It was previously home to a large sports-themed nightclub called Burbanks, which later became a strip club before eventually transforming into Junk. After Junk closed, it briefly became Tripp and then reverted back to Junk. Junk opened its doors in 2007 and quickly became a staple of Southampton’s underground music scene.
The 700-capacity club was known for its intimate atmosphere, impressive sound system, and diverse lineup of DJs and live acts. It even hosted Mixmag Live with renowned radio DJ Annie Mac.
Junk closed in 2020 – 13 years after originally opening. The club cited the changing industry landscape and rising operating costs as the main reasons for its closure.
Since Junk’s closure, the venue has been taken over and transformed into Rebel and then Trilogy Nightclub, which opened in 2021. Trilogy offers a different vibe with two rooms playing a mix of RnB, Dance, House, and Pop music.
