Watch: Josh Berry crashes shortly after restart in Goodyear 400

Date:

One of the best-looking paint schemes of NASCAR throwback weekend at Darlington Raceway will leave with several major blemishes.

After William Byron and the rest of the field took the green flag on Lap 194 to start Stage 3 of Sunday’s Goodyear 400, Berry was battling for position with Tyler Reddick. But Berry’s race came to an early end.

On Lap 196, Reddick tried to get up in front of Berry on the exit of turn two. However, Reddick’s No. 45 was not clear of Berry’s No. 21, which led to contact between the two drivers on the backstretch.

Berry bounced off the outside wall before his Ford — adorned with a throwback livery to 1965 Indianapolis 500 winner Jim Clark — slid down the backstretch and hit the inside wall hard.
