Tottenham Hotspur have officially appointed Brentford manager Thomas Frank as their new head coach on a deal that will run until 2028.
The 51-year-old Dane replaces Ange Postecoglou, who was sacked earlier this month despite remarkably leading Spurs to victory in the Europa League final in May.
Frank arrives at Tottenham after a successful seven-year tenure at Brentford, where he famously guided the club from the Championship to the Premier League in 2021 and established them as a consistent top-flight side.
He becomes Tottenham’s fourth permanent manager since June 2021, marking another significant change in the club’s leadership.
Last season, Spurs finished a disappointing 17th in the Premier League, suffering 22 defeats in their 38 matches and ending the campaign seven places and 18 points adrift of Brentford.
Despite their league struggles, Tottenham has qualified for next season’s Champions League, thanks to their Europa League triumph over Manchester United in the Bilbao final, securing their first major trophy in 17 years.
Frank will be joined at Tottenham by Justin Cochrane, who will serve as his assistant, despite Brentford’s efforts to retain the England coach.
Additionally, Frank has brought Chris Haslam, his head of performance, and Joe Newton, a first-team analyst, with him from Brentford. Another assistant coach, Andreas Georgson, also joins the coaching staff from Manchester United.
