Georgies Bar in Asbury Park made USA TODAY’s list of best bars in the country.
The USA TODAY Bars of the Year 2025 list, released July 30, features 29 bars from dives to high-end cocktail bars.
“I decided to invest in Asbury Park (because) I had a dream to provide something new and different for (the city) because it always was special to me,” said George Lister, who opened Georgies Bar in 1999. “I believed the city needed a place where everyone was welcome and would be comfortable — in particular, the gay community.”
