Officers are now investigating the “serious assault” that took place last night, Monday, July 7 and are appealing for witnesses.
Hampshire police have stepped up patrols and remain in the area today, as detectives appeal for witnesses to come forward.
Police were called at around 11.30pm, to a report of an altercation in Gatwick Close.
During the incident, a man in his 20s suffered a stab wound to his back, and was subsequently taken to hospital.

His injuries were confirmed not to be life-threatening or life-changing, and he has since been discharged from hospital.
A 20-year-old man from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent, he remains in custody at this time.
A second victim, a woman in her 30s, was also struck over the head with a glass bottle during the incident.

She did not sustain serious injuries or require hospital treatment.
An 18-year-old woman from Southampton has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm in connection with this.
She also remains in custody at this time.
