Pistons announce major injury update on Jaden Ivey

Date:

Jaden Ivey was supposed to be a huge part of what the Detroit Pistons wanted to do this season.

They’re already the talk of the NBA thanks to their incredible turnaround from last season’s 14-68 record to this season’s 43-36 record and counting.

The thing is, much of their progress from the NBA basement into an NBA playoff team has come without Ivey after he suffered a broken fibula in his left leg on Jan. 1 against the Orlando Magic.

That was a blow for the Pistons, though they continued fighting without Ivey as Cade Cunningham stepped up to become a bona fide superstar.

In the meantime, though, Ivey has been rehabbing and the Pistons just dropped a major update on how he’s doing.

“He has been cleared for basketball activity and will now enter the beginning phase of a re-conditioning progression along with a continued progression of court work. Ivey’s status will be updated in another two weeks,” the Pistons said in a statement on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.
