The locals are chic, the colours on every building are stunning, the tapas culture is a vibe and the air smells of fresh oranges. My first visit to Seville, and wow, what a joy – so inspiring!
Year-round the weather is pretty warm, and the town is walkable. We stayed in a spacious apartment in the centre, looking inward (as most do) to a historical courtyard covered in terracotta busts and climbing ivy. The trickle of its fountain lulled us to sleep, and the ringing of the church bells nearby woke us for breakfast.
Purposefully we visited off-season, to avoid the Summer heat and crowds. As the capital of Andalucía, this city has managed to preserve its old-world charm while still embracing a buzzing, modern culture.
Getting There & Getting Around
Seville is easy to reach from most major European cities, and once you’re there, forget taxis—this is a city best explored on foot. Everything worth seeing is within strolling distance, which is ideal because you’ll need to walk off all the tapas!
