On Wednesday, Rachel Gupta took to her social media to announce that she has resigned from her Miss Grand International 2024 title. The overall matter fell into controversy after the organisers claimed she had been officially terminated.

In her Instagram post, Rachel claimed that she has been surrounded by a toxic environment and repeated unkept promises. As per Rachel, the decision of stepping down from the position was difficult but necessary to make.

Rachel stated, “Being crowned was one of the most cherished dreams of my life, but the months following my crowning have been marked by broken promises, mistreatment, and a toxic environment I can no longer endure in silence.”

Rachel claims

Rachel further added that she will soon reveal her full story in a video which she will release soon. “This decision was not made lightly. In the coming days, I will be releasing a full video sharing the details behind this difficult journey.” said Rachel.

Rachel’s Instagram caption reads, “To all my supporters around the world: I’m truly sorry if this news has disappointed you. Please know this wasn’t an easy decision, but it was the right one for me. However, Miss Grand International (MGI) Organisation put forward a different picture of the controversy. The organisation released an official statement, informing about Rachel’s termination from her position.

“The Miss Grand International Organisation hereby announces the termination of Miss Rachel Gupta’s title as Miss Grand International 2024, effective immediately.” read the official statement of the organisation.

Organisation accused Rachel

Not just this, the organisation accused Gupta of failing to honor her duties, pursuing unauthorised external projects and refusing to be a part of an official trip to Guatemala. It also asked Rachel to return the crown to the MGI Head Office within 30 days.
