Damian “Damo” Dean, 16, of Brookside Close, Denmead, and Mason Renhard, 17, of Pitmore Close, Eastleigh, died in Corhampton Lane on Sunday, July 13.
The inquest into their deaths was opened at Winchester Coroners’ Court on Wednesday, July 23, by assistant coroner Simon Burge.
Mr Burge has requested statements from GPs, South Central Ambulance Service, and the teenagers’ families.
The inquest has been adjourned to June 3 next year.
As previously reported, officers were called at 2.47am on Sunday, July 13, to reports that a grey Hyundai i20 had collided with a tree on Corhampton Lane, Corhampton.
The driver – 16-year-old Damien “Damo” Dean from Denmead – and passenger – 17-year-old Mason Renhard from Eastleigh – were pronounced dead at the scene.
Tributes have been left at the scene, including flowers and messages from loved ones.
One of the tributes reads: “My baby boy, I can’t believe I am writing this. We love you so much and I will see you again.”
