In the Dock: Latest cases at Southampton Magistrates’ Court

MICHAEL WAKEFIELD, 51, of Douglas Way, Hythe, pleaded guilty to a charge of drink driving after he was caught driving a Peugeot on Maynard Road in Totton with 96 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, on January 21. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes. He was nearly three times above the legal limit. He is subject to a year long community order and must complete up to 15 rehabilitation activity requirement days. He must also undertake 80 hours of unpaid work, pay £85 prosecution costs and a £114 surcharge, and he has been banned from driving for two years.

GEOFFREY BEADLE, 43, of Denmead Road, Southampton, admitted a charge of theft after he stole items worth £87.95 from Boots on Portswood high street, Southampton on February 17. He is subject to a year long community order and must complete up to 20 rehabilitation activity requirement days.

MAXIMUS RUSSON-GREEN, 20, of Beech Crescent, Hythe, pleaded guilty to two charges of assault by beating of an emergency worker on March 14, 2024 after he attacked two police officers in Southampton. He is subject to a one year community order and must complete up to 15 rehabilitation activity requirement days and 100 hours of unpaid work. He must also pay £200 compensation to one of the officers and £50 compensation to the other officer.

KEVIN WILLIAMS, 42, of International Way, Southampton, admitted three charges of making indecent photographs of children after he was caught with 191 category C images, 503 category B images, and 721 category A images – the most serious. These offences occurred on May 6, 2024. He also admitted a charge of possessing eight extreme pornographic images on August 11, 2023. He will next appear at Southampton Crown Court on July 1 to be sentenced.

LASHONTAY MOORE, 18, of Selborne Avenue, Southampton, pleaded guilty to a charge of theft after they were caught stealing children’s clothes from H&M in Southampton on January 17. Moore is subject to an 18 month conditional discharge and must pay prosecution costs of £85.
