Hampshire van driver led police on dangerous M27 pursuit

Reports from members of the public suggested that Biddle was swerving across three lanes and narrowly avoiding other vehicles.

Despite being signalled to stop, the 37-year-old continued driving dangerously, running red lights and mounting pavements.

Police were authorised to use tactical contact to bring the van to a stop between junctions 11 and 12 on the M27.

Biddle, of Billy Road, Hayling Island, was arrested and later charged with dangerous driving and failing to provide a specimen for analysis.

He was sentenced on December 19 at Portsmouth Crown Court after pleading guilty.

Biddle received a six-month prison term, suspended for two years.

He was also disqualified from driving for four years and will be required to take an extended retest.
