Gage Wood goes nuts with 19-strikeout no-hitter in CWS

Date:

Gage Wood is an absolute monster for the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Wood, on Monday, threw the third no-hitter in the history of the College World Series. He did so in a 3-0 win over Murray State in what was an elimination game at the event at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha.

Wood not only pitched a no-hitter, but he was so dominant he struck out 19 batters and nearly threw a perfect game. Wood hit Dom Decker on the foot with a breaking ball in the eighth inning to spoil the perfect game.

He also hit another Murray State batter in the elbow in the ninth inning, but the umpires reviewed the play and determined the batter had leaned into the pitch. They overturned it from a hit-by-pitch and made it an out.
