Hampshire police were called at 10.25am to a report of a crash on an access road near St Anne’s Grove this morning, involving a rider of a bicycle and a rider of an electric bicycle.
With six police cars, several ambulances and air ambulance paramedics rushing to the scene, the junction between Highfield Avenue and St Anne’s Grove was closed.
A man in his 60s died at the scene.
His family has been notified and the other cyclist was uninjured.
Hampshire police are now appealing for witnesses following the fatal collision.

A spokesperson for officers said: “We would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident, and anyone with relevant dash cam or CCTV footage.
“If you have any information, please call 101 quoting reference number 44250341262.”
On the incident, a spokesperson for Hampshire Air Ambulance said: “Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance confirmed that both the air ambulance and Critical Care Paramedic car was dispatched at 10:24 to an incident in Fareham on Wednesday 30 July.
“The Critical Care Team consisting of one doctor and three specialist paramedics provided critical care treatment to a patient.”
