Chapel Hill leads 9 others to trade N2.14trn stocks in 5 months

In five months to May 2025, equities worth N2.14trillion were traded by Chapel Hill Denham Securities Limited, Cardinalstone Securities Limited, Cordros Securities Limited, and seven other stockbroking firms.

Other stockbroking firms that contributed to the record N2.14trillion equities transaction in five months are: APT Securities and Funds, United Capital Securities Limited, Stanbic IBTC Stockbrokers Limited, EFG Hermes Nigeria Limited, Meristem Stockbrokers Limited, Coronation Securities Limited, and First Securities Brokers Limited.

These ten firms 5-month deals value represents 62.56 percent of the total value of stocks traded on the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) in the same period, according to recent broker performance report.

Details of the report show that Chapel Hill Denham Securities Limited traded equities valued at N700.882billion or 20.49 percent. CardinalStone Securities Limited followed, accounting for equities transactions worth N325.615billion or 9.52 percent of the total value of stocks traded on the NGX in the same period. Cordros Securities Limited also traded stocks worth N199.366billion or 5.83 percent.

The report also shows that APT Securities and Funds traded equities worth N169.268billion, representing 4.95 percent of the total trade on the NGX in the review five months period; United Capital Securities Limited (N159.304billion or 4.66 percent); Stanbic IBTC Stockbrokers Limited (N159.253billion or 4.66 percent); EFG Hermes Nig Limited (N145.573billion or 4.26 percent); Meristem Stockbrokers Limited (N127.032billion or 3.71 percent); Coronation Securities Limited (N83.778billion or 2.45 percent); and First Securities Brokers Limited (N70.165billion or 2.05 percent).
