The Home Depot Backyard (HDBY), a multi-use green space known as “Atlanta’s Backyard,” announced its upcoming programming schedule for the 2025 season.
Featuring more than 200 free community programs, HDBY’s 2025 season offerings will run from Monday, May 12 until October 2025, with sessions taking place Mondays and Tuesdays, from 6 to 8:15 p.m.
The majority of HDBY’s programming focuses on “health and wellness,” with over 100 classes centered around that particular area.
Among the highlights include “Trap Boxing” with instructor, Starr Boxing; Tranquil Tuesday Yoga (formerly known as Hip Hop Yoga); along with classes that incorporate pilates, youth fitness, full body exercises, dancing and more.
Other programs in the new season will focus on the areas of “inspired learning” and “art and culture,” which combine with “health and wellness” to form the three “pillars” that HDBY valued the most to offer to Atlantans.
Planned programs that integrate “inspired learning” and “art and culture” elements include bi-weekly self defense and Tai Chi classes, improv courses and others.
Leading many of the programs under those two pillars are the Welch Martial Arts Experience — an organization based in Atlanta’s historic Westside — and local art brand Sway Art.
In addition to its weekly schedule, HDBY will host special monthly programming on select Wednesdays, including pickleball clinics hosted by Pickleball USA, a run/walk club led by wellness influencer Shunty Ringfield, along with dance clinics organized in partnership with Atlanta nonprofit Dance Canvas.
Since 2023, The Home Depot Backyard says that it has hosted more than 400 community programs with over 16,000 participants for its free weekly community programs.
