Apple Shadyside, a longtime tenant of the Pittsburgh Walnut Street shopping district, is gearing up for a relocation in August moving roughly 200 feet from its current location.
Apple Shadyside opened its doors in 2004 at 5508 Walnut Street. The store sits in the heart of one of the neighborhood’s most popular destinations for upscale shopping and fine dining.
But now, it seems like Apple Shadyside is getting ready to move onto bigger and better things. Fortunately, it’s not moving all that far — roughly 200 feet west from its current location.
The new location, 5436 Walnut Street, is significantly larger than the original, taking up residence in the space previously occupied by The Gap. Apple says the new location will have its grand opening on Saturday, August 9, at 10:00 AM.
As Macrumors points out, the location will be two stories and will feature the updated design featured in the new Tysons Corner location. It’s safe to assume it will have an Apple Pickup station for online orders, an accessibility-friendly Genius Bar, and feature a wood-prominent design rather than the classic stainless steel design.
