A35 crash: Woman suffers life-threatening injuries

Yesterday afternoon (Friday, May 30) police closed the road near Lyndhurst on the northbound side shortly after 1.30pm.

It was reported that five people had been taken to hospital following the incident, with officers advising the public to find an alternative route.

Though the road has now reopened, a spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary has confirmed a 37-year-old woman involved in the incident remains in hospital, having sustained life-threatening injuries.

A further three people – a six-year-old girl, a man in his 30s, and a woman in her 50s – suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, with officers still investigating to establish the full circumstances of the incident.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the force said: “Of those injured, one person is being treated for serious, life-threatening injuries.

“Three people have suffered serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

“One person initially thought to be injured has been confirmed to have no injuries.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
