The New York Yankees are on the verge of making the wrong kind of history after another shutout loss on Tuesday night.
The Yankees fell, 4-0, to the Los Angeles Angels, giving them their third straight shutout loss, fifth consecutive loss and extending their scoreless streak to 29 innings.
It is the first time since 2016 that the Yankees have been shut out in three consecutive games. Should the Pinstripes get shut out in Wednesday’s game against the Angels, they would break the franchise record of scoreless innings (37) set by the Highlanders in 1908, per The Athletic’s Chris Kirschner.
New York had no answer for Angels starting pitcher Kyle Hendricks, who went six scoreless innings for the first time this season and threw his most strikeouts (nine) since 2020.
