A cordon was put in place by Hampshire Constabulary early this morning at the Grove Road Recreation Ground in Gosport.
On Thursday evening, July 17, a 42-year-old woman had been treated by the ambulance service after being found unconscious.
Officers are now conducting enquiries to establish whether the woman was sexually assaulted or is “the victim of any other offences”.

A police spokesperson said: “We were called at 00:43am this morning, Friday, July 18, by a member of the public informing us that at around 22:30pm on Thursday evening, a 42-year-old woman had been treated by the ambulance service after being found unconscious at Grove Road Recreation Ground in Gosport.
“She is no longer receiving medical treatment.
“Enquiries are underway to establish what happened and whether the woman was sexually assaulted or the victim of any other offences.
“We put a scene in place in the recreation ground, which has now been stood down, and are carrying out CCTV enquiries in the area to progress our investigation.”
