The United States gets set for a CONCACAF Gold Cup tune-up match on Saturday, hosting European squad Turkiye in Hartford.
This will be the Yankees’ first match since they fell to Canada in the CONCACAF Nations League third-place match in March. It will be an opportunity for the team to try and come together and prepare for one of North America’s biggest soccer events.

What will be tough for the U.S. heading into the Gold Cup is the lack of starpower, as several notable names are electing to prioritize rest rather than represening their country.
Like the Americans, Turkiye is taking the field for the first time since Nations League competition, getting knocked out by Hungary in League B of the UEFA Nations League back in March. For the Turks, with FIFA World Cup Qualifcation on the horizon, this will be a good test to see if they can compete with some of the top teams in the world.
This will be the fifth time Turkiye and U.S. will meet on the pitch and the fourth friendly. The Americans are 2-1-1, winning the last meeting in June 2014.
