Watch: Kyle Schwarber extends impressive streak vs. Guardians

The Philadelphia Phillies can always seem to count on left fielder Kyle Schwarber finding a way to get on base.

In the bottom of the second inning in a road game against the Cleveland Guardians on Sunday, the 32-year-old slugger blasted an 89 mph changeup from Cleveland Guardians starting pitcher Luis Ortiz into right field for a solo home run. The 392-foot dinger gave Philadelphia a 1-0 lead.

With the homer, the 2022 Silver Slugger has reached a base in 46 consecutive games, the longest active streak in the majors. In the wild-card era, the only Phillies player with a longer on-base streak is Bobby Abreu (48 games in 2000-01), via MLB’s X account.
