Watch: Giants’ Willy Adames catches fire vs. Rockies

San Francisco Giants shortstop Willy Adames has floundered thus far, but Sunday’s home game against the Colorado Rockies seemed like a prime opportunity to find his groove.

Through its first 33 games this season, Colorado was tied for second-to-last in baseball in ERA (5.24). In their past two games against the Giants, the Rockies had allowed 10 runs.

In the bottom of the first inning, Adames exploited Colorado’s lousy pitching. The shortstop crushed a 95 mph four-seam fastball from Colorado starting pitcher German Marquez into left field for a 392-foot home run.
