Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich are close to agreeing a £30m deal Mathys Tel.
If the deal falls through it will be the first signing under new manager Thomas Frank, believed to have given his final thumbs up.
Tel joined Spurs on loan in January and started 11 games in the Premier League, scoring twice and playing a total of 913 minutes.
Spurs paid an original £7.3m loan fee to Bayern.
Tel was originally signed on loan with a view of a permanent deal in January under former manager Ange Postecoglou.
Manchester United, Chelsea and Aston Villa were all interested in Tel in January.
Stade Rennais – Tel’s former club – have a share of the sell-on in the region of 10 to 15 percent.
