Mohanlal is a name to reckon with. The South superstar enjoys a great fandom across the nation. In recent times, he has only witnessed box office success. His last release L2: Empuraan with Prithviraj Sukamaran turned out to be the highest grossing Malayalam movie ever. Now, his film Thudarum has hit the screens. Shobana plays the leading lady in the movie. Directed by Tharun Moorthy, the movie is an action comedy thriller revolving around Mohanlal’s character whose precious ambassador car has gone missing. The film received positive reviews and even at the box office, it has managed to score well.
As per a report in Sacnilk.com, Mohanlal-starrer Thudarum has managed to mint around Rs 5.5 crore at the box office on its opening day. The film has now become the second-highest opening day grosser of the year 2025. The first position is held by L2: Empuraan. The movie had made around Rs 24.5 crore on its first day at the box office.
As per the report, Thudarum witnessed an occupancy of 62.27% overall. Areas like Kottayam, Thrissur, Kochi and more saw the highest turnout. It is expected that the weekend turnout would be better than this.
Mohanlal is already happy with all the praise and success of Thudarum. Upon film’s release, the actor took to his social media account to pen a lengthy note thanking his fans for all the support. He expressed gratitude and wrote, “I’m deeply moved and truly humbled by the love and heartfelt response for #Thudarum.Each message and every word of appreciation has touched me in ways I can’t fully express.
