Indian industrialist Ratan Tata has been known for his successful business ventures all over the world. The industrialist also tried his luck in Bollywood however, the results were not as he expected.
Tata’s Bollywood Venture
Ratan Tata made his investment in Bollywood in 2004 in the film Aetbaar. However, the film turned out to be a big flop at the box office.
Inspired From Fear
This Vikram Bhatt directed film featured multiple stars like John Abraham, Bipasha Basu and Supriya Pilgaonkar. The storyline of the film was inspired by the 1996 American film Fear.
Actor Denied Entry
Despite being a colossal flop at the box office, stories from the film’s set continue to surface online. One of the lead actors even shared that they were once denied entry at an event.
A Multi Starred Film
The lead actor was none other than John Abraham. In an interview he recalled “When I arrived for my first muhurat shot, I came on a motorcycle. The film was Aetbaar, and Hrithik Roshan and Amitabh Bachchan were there to clap the board for me.”
Stopped At The Gates
“Hrithik and I were classmates-he’s a sweetheart. But when I reached the venue, the security stopped me at the gate and asked, ‘Who are you?’ I told them, ‘This is my film’s muhurat,’ but they didn’t recognize me and refused to let me in.” said John Abraham
Amitabh and Hritik At The Set
The film also featured legendary artists like Amitabh Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan. John Abraham said “Finally, after some convincing, they opened the gates, and I saw Amitabh Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan waving at me, calling me in.”
A Crashing Failure
Even after having so many legendary actors and an impeccable script, the film couldn’t do well at the box office. Made on a budget of Rs 95 Million the film only earned Rs 80 million.
