As per reports, the movie was made on a budget of Rs 15 crore. However, it went on to earn Rs 50.9 crore worldwide.
Not the first choice
People want a sequel to this movie but Imtiaz Ali had declined this idea many times. However, not many know that Shahid and Kareena were not the first choice for the film.
Bobby and Preity were offered the film
Yes, Imtiaz Ali earlier wanted to cast, Bobby Deol and Preity Zinta for Jab We Met. However, both the starts rejected the offer.
Shahid-Kareena’s breakup
Imtiaz Ali once spoke to Galatta India and said that he had approached Bobby Deol but he was already doing some other movie. He even said that he approached Preity but she too, could not do the movie. However, he added that Jab We Met got many rejections and nobody thought it would work. But, Preity was the first one who told him that the movie is good. After Jab We Met released, Kareena and Shahid have never worked together as they broke up after that.
