Kangana Ranaut

The actress we are talking about is Kangana Ranaut. She was born on 23 March 1986. Kangana is an actress who ventured into politics. She is now serving as a Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, from Mandi since June 2024. She made her film debut in the 2006 thriller Gangster, for which she was awarded the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.

In an old interview, Kangana revealed that she rejected Salman Khan’s movies -‘Sultan’ and ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan.’ The actress voiced her concern about how the female leads are shadowed by these big stars.

Speaking with Siddharth Kannan, she said, “Salman offered me a role in Bajrangi Bhaijaan, I was like ‘Yeh kya role diya hai?’. He then approached me for Sultan. I didn’t take that up. He was like, ‘What more do I offer to you now?”

Despite her refusal, Salman Khan also supported her towards her films. Eventually, Anushka Sharma was cast opposite Khan in ‘Sultan’ while Kareena Kapoor played his love interest in ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’.

In an interview with Raj Shamani, Kangana refused to cast with A-listers and said, “I refused Khan-led films. All Khans are very nice to me, they are very kind to me, and they have never misbehaved with me. Yes, there are people who have misbehaved with me but Khans were not one of them. But I said no to their films because their films are prototypes wherein the heroine will have two scenes and one song. So I said I don’t want to do that. I want to be an example of a woman who is an A-lister, the top-most actor who has not worked with Khans.”
