Airbnb released a list of the most wishlisted homes across the 50 states, calling them “unique and one-of-a-kind stays” that offer guests immersive experiences.
There is a growing preference by travelers for nearby getaways, according to the company, which noted that searches for places within 50 to 300 miles from home make up nearly 25% of searches for summer stays.

Massachusetts: Gingerbread House Tower
A Gingerbread House Tower in Tyringham on the Santarella Estate in the Berkshires gives travelers “a storybook experience,” according to the listing. It sits on four acres that include a garden, lily pond, and stone bridges and has two bedrooms, a kitchen, a bathroom, and an indoor fireplace. It sleeps four guests.
Maine: The Copper Fox Treehouse
Kick back in a treehouse shaped like the head of a red fox on six acres near Bradbury Mountain State Park in Pownal at The Copper Fox Treehouse. “It feels like you are in a dream,” according to the listing. It has two bedrooms, a kitchen, one bath, and an indoor fireplace. It sleeps four guests.
New Hampshire: Boulder House

Vermont: Luxury Glass Tiny House
At this 200-square foot Luxury Glass Tiny House in Warren, guests can relax in a hot tub overlooking Sugarbush Mountain. The rental has one bedroom, a kitchen, and a bathroom. “Showering with only glass between you and the Green Mountains is a truly memorable experience, and spotting wildlife from bed will make this trip one you’ll never forget,” says the listing. Rhode Island: Waterfront Cottage
While staying at this 1,500 square-foot Waterfront Cottage in South Kingstown, “outdoor lovers will be in paradise,” according to the listing. The rental has three bedrooms, a kitchen, 2.5 bathrooms, a lake view, an expansive yard, private dock, and beach access. It sleeps eight guests.
Connecticut: The River Loft
The River Loft in Weston is a riverfront retreat on more than two acres of forested land with private river access. It is an open-air studio built by a “visionary local architect” and has two beds, a kitchen, a bathroom, and an outdoor grill. It sleeps four guests.
