Is there any piece more classic than a trench coat? I always feel instantly polished when I throw mine on, whether it’s layered over a cosy knit or draped across my shoulders. With so many beautiful styles around, I wanted to share a few tips to pick the perfect trench coat for you this season:

If you’re on the tall side, midi and full-length trenches are the trench coat styles for you. I love a belted waist (just above your natural waist does wonders for definition), especially if you go for a relaxed cut.

If you’re petite, go for shorter lengths. Those that hit just above the knee or at the hip make all the difference in elongating the figure.

But ultimately, the right trench just feels good. Don’t hesitate to size up if, like me, you love an oversized look and want to throw your trench over chunky sweaters or blazers. I always do the “shoulder test”: if I can pick up my bag or reach up for the top shelf easily, it’s a keeper.
