Just one season separates the Boston Celtics from an NBA Championship, but it probably feels a long way away for Celtics fans now. After losing Jayson Tatum to an achilles injury in the Eastern Conference Semifinals, Boston has already moved on from contributors to their 2024 Finals run in an effort to shed both salary and age.
One of the players on the move is 35 year old guard Jrue Holiday, who Boston sent to Portland for 26 year old Anfernee Simons and two future second round draft picks. Holiday is a decorated player in his 16-year career, earning six-time All-Defense selections while winning two NBA titles and two Olympic gold medals.
