There hasn’t been a repeat Stanley Cup champion since the Tampa Bay Lightning completed their back-to-back in 2021, but the Florida Panthers are one game away from restarting the clock. Brad Marchand and company are returning to the friendly confines of Sunrise, Florida with a 3-2 series lead after a 5-2 win in Edmonton thanks in part to another multi-goal game from the “Rat.” The 37-year-old veteran already has one Cup of his own from his time with the Boston Bruins, but after joining the Panthers at the trade deadline he’s gunning for a Conn Smythe Trophy in addition to a second Stanley Cup with 20 points and a +/- of 18 through the entire postseason.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. A player has scored five or more goals in one Stanley Cup Final on 28 occasions in the NHL’s Modern Era (since 1967-68). How many of those players can you name in five minutes?
Good luck!
