Taraba State Internal Revenue Service Partners with CWG Plc to Digitise Sports Gaming Revenue Collection


The Taraba State Internal Revenue Service (TIRS) has partnered with technology powerhouse CWG Plc to digitise and optimise its sports gaming revenue collection processes using CWG’s proprietary Gaming Management System.

The agreement, announced at a stakeholder engagement session in Jalingo, is part of the state’s broader digital economy strategy that will see CWG PLC leverage its cutting-edge revenue systems and digital expertise to enhance Taraba State’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) processes while working closely with the Taraba State Internal Revenue Service.

Mr. Ireti Yusuf, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of CWG Plc, who was present at the signing of the agreement, commented on the import of the partnership.

During the signing ceremony, the Taraba State Commissioner of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Innovation, Hon. Nonso Gideon Samuel, expressed optimism about the collaboration, appreciating the effort of the Executive Chairman and Board members of the Taraba State Internal Revenue Service for facilitating the partnership with CWG Plc.

Speaking on the partnership, CWG Plc CEO Adewale Adeyipo stated,

The GMS platform is expected to drive significant improvements in revenue growth, reduce leakages, and provide critical insights into gaming trends and compliance across the state.

Key officials present at the signing ceremony included the Executive Chairman of TIRS, Brigadier General Jeremiah Aliyu Faransa (Rtd), Mr. Gideon Samuel Nonso, Honourable Commissioner for Digital Economy, Legal adviser of the Taraba State Internal Revenue Service (TIRS), Barr. Dickens Shintema, as well as TIRS’ Board Members, Permanent Secretary, Secretary and Directors at the Ministry of Digital Economy and Innovations.
