Software firm assures of tackling uncoordinated disease surveillance systems

Worried by the prevalence of uncoordinated disease surveillance systems in Africa which has continued to make the continent prone to diseases, Apollonia Tuple says it is poised to tackle such challenges.

Apollonia Tuple is a cutting-edge software company that develops impactful and adaptable software solutions, currently focused on the health-tech sector and public service technology.

Chinyere Obasi, the firm’s founder and visionary lead, says that there are other noticeable challenges, including slow emergency response to outbreaks and epidemics and insufficient real-time remote monitoring of patients.

She also listed fragmented data infrastructure in public healthcare and the absence of integrated digital tools to manage healthcare records and public service delivery efficiently as challenges.

Obasi disclosed that one of their flagship products is Knua, which is currently under construction. It is hoped that this would help healthcare institutions and governments manage health systems more effectively and respond faster to public health needs.

“Knua is a powerful medical technology platform designed with features such as disease monitoring, remote patient monitoring, and intelligent health data tracking. Knua also includes Electronic Health Record (EHR) capabilities, making it a comprehensive solution for modern healthcare delivery and administration,” she said.

Obasi explained that Apollonia Tuple, which has been in operation for a few years before its official launch in January 3, 2024, has a broader vision which entails building transformative software for various sectors, from government systems to AI-powered service solutions for underserved regions.

She noted that the firm has grown through strategic research, hands-on development, and partnership with institutions to roll out technology that truly fits the African context and the world at large.

“Apollonia Tuple’s solutions are designed primarily for governments, healthcare providers, hospitals, and public health institutions. The tools are also tailored to fit non-governmental organisations, international health bodies, and development agencies,” she said.

On the reason behind the firm, she explained that these healthcare challenges affect millions of people daily, thus the decision to proffer solutions was birthed alongside her co-founder, Adeyemi Jaiyeola.
