Sisters climb Snowdon for Autism Hampshire in honour of sons

Date:

Krystal and Suzie undertook the challenge to raise funds and awareness for families like theirs.

The sisters, both mothers to autistic boys, Reggie and Brody, were inspired by their sons’ diagnoses at the age of two.

“However, we also see the challenges they face daily—not being able to communicate, not having a school place or even just not being able to go to the park when it’s too busy.

“As cousins, these boys have an amazing bond, and as sisters, we are so thankful we have each other to do this journey of motherhood together.

“In honour of them, we decided to challenge ourselves and climb Mount Snowdon at night.

“This was for a charity close to our hearts, Autism Hampshire.”

The charity was recommended as a future support resource when Krystal’s son was diagnosed.

After completing the climb, Krystal said: “We had a great time.

“It’s hard for us to get away together as sisters, so it was lovely spending time together and doing the challenge for a good cause.”

The funds raised will support Autism Hampshire’s existing services, including autism-focused training, community groups, supported living, and a free information, advice, and guidance service.

The charity works with autistic people, families, and professionals across Hampshire, pre, during, and post diagnosis.
