Shocking twist as Thai singer realises he once sat in same seat as lone Air India crash survivor

Date:

A Thai singer who survived a deadly plane crash in 1998 has shared his shock after discovering a haunting coincidence in the recent Air India tragedy, the only survivor of the crash was seated in the same seat he once occupied, 11A.

Ruangsak Loychusak, now 47, was one of the few survivors of Thai Airways flight TG261, which crashed while trying to land in Surat Thani. The plane had taken off from Bangkok but tragically stalled mid-air and crashed into a swamp. Out of the 146 people on board, 101 lost their lives. Loychusak was among the 45 who miraculously made it out alive.

After hearing about the Air India Boeing 787 Dreamliner crash in Ahmedabad last week, which claimed over 200 lives, the singer was stunned to learn that the only survivor, 40-year-old British national Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, had also been seated in 11A.

Speaking on June 12, 2025, Loychusak described the discovery as chilling. In a heartfelt Facebook post, he wrote, “I had goosebumps when I saw it. The lone survivor of the plane crash in India was sitting in the same seat number as me, 11A. I want to offer my condolences to all those who lost loved ones in the tragedy.”

Although he no longer has his original boarding pass from the 1998 crash, Loychusak said the seat number was recorded in newspaper reports from that time.
