Shedeur Sanders reveals if he is willing to sit behind veteran

Date:

Shedeur Sanders is one of the best quarterbacks in the 2025 NFL Draft, but many feel he would benefit from beginning his professional career as a backup. Does the former Colorado star agree?

Sanders visited with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday. The Steelers have the 21st overall pick, and Sanders is hoping to be selected much higher than that. If Pittsburgh does not wind up signing Aaron Rodgers, there is a chance the team could have interest in moving up the board for Sanders.

Or, it is possible that the Steelers are thinking about both signing Rodgers and drafting Sanders. The quarterback was asked about that possibility during an appearance on the “Up & Adams” show Thursday.

“If that’s the way that things play out, then that’s how it plays out,” Sanders said. “I wouldn’t question what God has planned for me.”

While Sanders indicated he would be open to sitting behind a veteran, he said Rodgers was not discussed at all during Sanders’ visit to Pittsburgh.
