Sandy Springs Society renews its Mystery Masterpieces fundraiser on April 15, presenting canvases for sale that renowned local artists and notable community members painted.
The artistic event will be 5 to 8 p.m. at the former Tuesday Morning location at 5920 Roswell Road, Sandy Springs.
Mystery Masterpieces attendees will view artwork and purchase pieces that interest them without knowing the artist’s identity. More than 200 canvases will be sold for $75 each. Only after the purchase will the new owners discover the artists’ names. The event was designed after London’s prominent Royal College of Art’s Secret Sale
Proceeds from the art sales will go directly to local nonprofits.
“We’re looking to have a little fun and infuse a bit of excitement into our arts scene through Mystery Masterpieces, all while raising money for our local nonprofit organizations,” said Cathy Galloway, co-chair of the event.
More than 150 Atlanta area artists and community leaders, including Steve Penley, have donated 5″x 7″ works of art. Penley has emerged as one of America’s pre-eminent and most sought-after artists during his 35-year career.
Additional local artists include Suzie Pryor, Barbara Royal, Shane McDonald, Allison Doke, and Barrett Ervin Shelton. The quality of the canvases displays their artistic skills in oils, watercolors, acrylic, collage, and photography. Click here to view the gallery.
Local artists from Art Sandy Springs, Sandy Springs Arts Foundation, Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center, City Springs Theatre Company, and Georgia Ensemble Theatre at Act 3 Productions are participating.
The Mystery Masterpieces event coincides with World Art Day 2025.
Tickets are $20 and include two drinks and light bites. The artwork pieces are $75 each.
