Ringwood cyclist who died in A31 crash named as inquest opens

Thomas Manston, 26, of Queensway, Ringwood, died on the A31 westbound on Saturday, June 14, a court heard.

The inquest into Mr Manston’s death was opened by area coroner Rosamund Rhodes-Kemp on Wednesday, June 25, at Winchester Coroners’ Court.

Mrs Rhodes-Kemp said that Mr Manston was riding a bicycle onto the westbound slip road when he was struck by a motor vehicle.

He died at the scene.

The preliminary cause of death has been given as polytrauma and a crash.

Giving her “deepest condolences” to the family, Mrs Rhodes-Kemp adjourned the inquest to take place on August 26, 2026.
