Remote WorkHER, a women-led platform supporting African women in remote careers, has announced a free job application training scheduled for 4 April 2025. The virtual session aims to equip more than 100 women with practical tools to secure remote and digital roles.
The initiative follows online discussions about a tweet by Remote WorkHER that addressed hiring frustrations and salary structures. Some job seekers and online users raised concerns about the tone and compensation practices. In response, Remote WorkHER has acknowledged the feedback and taken steps to address the issue.
“The feedback was valid. And as a company that exists to help women, we had to pause, listen, and lead with better solutions,” said Adeife Adeoye, founder of Remote WorkHER.
The upcoming training will provide job seekers with essential skills to navigate the job application process effectively. Topics include tailoring CVs, understanding job descriptions, avoiding common mistakes, and structuring portfolios. Participants will also learn how to craft application emails that attract recruiters’ attention and follow up professionally.
The training will be led by HR professional and recruitment expert Felix Bissong. He will share insights on creating compelling job applications and securing remote opportunities. The session will include real-world examples and interactive learning, ensuring participants leave with practical skills.
“Our why has always been simple: to equip women with the resources, knowledge, and community to thrive in remote work,” Adeoye said. “This is us doubling down on that mission.”
In addition to the training, Remote WorkHER is reviewing its internal compensation structure and hiring processes. The company plans to introduce clearer job descriptions, improved salary structures, and additional benefits such as health insurance, flexible hybrid work arrangements, performance bonuses, and professional development support.
