Officers located the horses in Botley Road this morning, in the east of the city, on a patch of grass next to an ambulance station.
In a statement on social media, a spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: “The officers currently in the saddle for the incident believe it is likely the horses haven’t gone far”.
However officers are yet to find out who they belong to.
