Padres’ bats come alive in eighth to steal win over Yankees

Date:

The San Diego Padres took advantage of the struggling New York Yankees and extended their win streak in the process. Keeping pace with the Los Angeles Dodgers at the top of the National League West, the Padres beat the Yankees, 4-3, on Monday night.

Manny Machado and Xander Bogaerts led the way for San Diego, as they each drove in two runs to complete the comeback win.

New York enjoyed the lead most of the game thanks to a Trent Grisham two-run shot in the third inning and then another run in the sixth.

But it was in the eighth inning when the Padres’ bats came alive and stole the game.
