Valentine Ozigbo, the Anambra Governorship Aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has filed a petition with the party’s Appeals Committee, contesting the results of the primary election held on Saturday.
This election resulted in Nicholas Ukachukwu being named the party’s candidate for theGubernatorial electionscheduled to hold on November 8th, 2025.
While Edobor Madu scored 8 votes, Johnbosco Obinna had 26 votes, Valentine Ozigbo had 67 votes, and Nicholas Ukachukwu scored the highest votes of 1,455 votes.
In a statement on Tuesday, Ozigbo, a former ally of Peter Obi, described the election as a charade and a “well-orchestrated heist designed to deliver a predetermined outcome.”
He claimed that the delegate list used in the election was populated with non-party members, which led to Ukachukwu’s victory on April 5, 2025.
Ozigbo emphasised that the orchestrated scheme was not only against him but also deprived the people of Anambra of better candidates.
Additionally, hecriticised the party for sidelining core members and engaging in transactional politics, which he argued, did not serve the best interests of the public.
