Osimhen to decide on future amid Galatasaray’s £56m bid, Man United move unlikely

Victor Osimhen‘s highly anticipated summer transfer to Manchester United appears unlikely as the Nigerian striker edges closer to a permanent stay at Galatasaray, following a standout loan spell in Turkey.

The Napoli forward, who joined Galatasaray on a surprise season-long loan deal last summer, has reignited his form in Istanbul, scoring an impressive 33 goals across all competitions. Despite interest from Manchester United, Chelsea, and Saudi side Al-Hilal in previous windows, a concrete move to the Premier League never materialised.

Now, according to Turkish outlet Milliyet, Galatasaray have reportedly raised £56 million in financial demands to activate a permanent deal for the 26-year-old Nigerian goal poacher.

Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk is keen to keep Osimhen for another season, promising Champions League football and a potential exit in 2026 should European giants come calling again.

Osimhen himself appears open to the idea of staying, having recently spoken glowingly about his experience at the Turkish giants.

“It’s a great feeling. Everyone is showing this much love, the children shouting at the tunnel exit… I will continue to make them proud,” he said.

“The team winning, me scoring… I want to continue as they know me.”

Reflecting on his record-breaking season, Osimhen added:
“It was important to break my record in my first season. I am at one of the most important clubs in the world, the biggest club in Türkiye. This season is a memory I will remember for the rest of my life.”

He also praised his teammates and technical staff.

“The important thing is not Victor Osimhen, but the team. I like to help the midfield, get the ball, and contribute in every way I can.”

With Galatasaray now financially positioned to seal a permanent move and Osimhen expressing contentment in Turkey, Manchester United and Chelsea may once again miss out on one of Europe’s most prolific forwards.
