The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has dismissed several top officials closely associated with Mele Kyari, former Group CEO of the state-owned oil company, who was relieved of his position earlier this month.
Among the executives affected are Bala Wunti, former head of the National Petroleum Investment Management Services (NAPIMS); Ibrahim Onoja, managing director of the Kaduna Refinery; and Lawal Sade, chief compliance officer and former MD of NNPC Trading.
According to reports by TheCable, the shake-up has impacted over 200 employees across various levels, signalling the start of broader internal reforms within the national oil firm.
As part of the restructuring, there has also been a notable shift toward gender inclusion in leadership and it was understood that the changes have been positively received by the staff.
