Determined to boost trade relations between Nigeria and its Indonesian counterpart, the Nigeria-Indonesia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI), in collaboration with the Indonesia Trade Promotion Centre (ITPC) and the Indonesian Embassy in Nigeria, has announced plans to host the 2025 Indonesian Joint Expo.
The organisers said that the Joint Expo focuses on trade, while the Nigerian Investment and Trade Forum will focus on driving foreign direct investment into Nigeria.
Speaking at a press conference to announce the upcoming events in Lagos, Ishmael Balogun, president of the Nigerian-Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI), said the business and trade expo is a pivotal event fostering international economic collaboration between Nigerian businesses and those of Indonesia.
According to Balogun, the Indonesian Joint Expo, which is the 40th edition, will take place from 15th October through to the 19th, while the Nigerian-Indonesian Investment and Trade Forum will commence on the 21st of October, 2025.
Balogun said that the two events present a unique platform for businesses worldwide, unlocking enhanced trade prospects and investment avenues and further exploring the high untapped potential of Indonesia and Nigeria trade, which could be further improved.
He also said that NICCI has partnered the office of the Vice President of Nigeria, who has mandated the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council, to coordinate several MDAs, ministries, departments, and agencies of the Federal Government of Nigeria to extend the expo.
“Nigeria as a strategic partner with Indonesia a have a huge and rich market potential stands a better chance in 2025 to stake a higher trade volume than the previous year,” Balogun said.
Commenting further, the president of the Nigerian Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI) added that 2025 Trade expo is a continuation from the previous edition which will further present business opportunities in sectors such as Food & Beverages; Fashion, Textile & Accessories; Chemical, Energy & Industrial Product; Beauty & Personal Care; Medical Equipment & Healthcare; Home Living; Digital & Services.
Balogun called for the active participation of diverse sectors of the Nigerian business community in playing a more active and engaging role this year in the presentations, seminars and speeches at the international business forum at the Indonesian Joint Expo.
