Newcastle United are reportedly gearing up a move for RB Leipzig attacker Benjamin Sesko, following the potential departure of Alexander Isak. The Mapgies have identified Sesko as the main target to replace Isak, who is eyeing to move from the club this summer.
Newcastle Target Sesko as Isak’s Replacement
The Magpies’ transfer plan to improve their attacking department seems to be having an unwanted situation. After they failed to land, Hugo Ekitike, Newcastle, now found themselves still potentially losing their star striker, Alexander Isak.
According to multiple reports in England, Isak has informed his current team that he wants to explore a move this summer. Following Liverpool’s recent bid, it looks like the Swedish international believes that it’s time for him to take the next step.
Not keen on starting the season without a top attacker, Newcastle plan to make a move for RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko. The Magpies believe that the Slovenian would be the best candidate to replace Isak, if the Swede moves from St. James Park in this summer’s transfer window.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Newcastle can potentially sign Sesko for around 70 million to 80 million Euros (not including add-ons). Those numbers are certainly reachable for the Mapgies, especially if they do sell Isak for the quoted 150 million pounds fee.
