New Forest: Boy, 3, run over by car on Beaulieu Road



At 5.40pm on Tuesday, police were informed that a car had hit the child on Beaulieu Road, a rural road that connects Dibden Purlieu to Beaulieu.

The boy sustained minor injuries but no arrests have yet been made, Hampshire police confirmed.

Social media posts on Facebook suggested that Beaulieu Road had been closed as emergency services attended the incident, but a spokesperson for the police said that they could not see details of any closures on their logs.

Emergency services rushed to Beaulieu Road on Saturday after receiving more than 20 calls about a large gorse fire.

Near Hatchet Pond, which stems off of Beaulieu Road, a wildfire ripped through a green space and destroyed an area that spanned more than three football pitches.
