Police officers spotted the suspected stolen motorcycle – branded with ‘YOUR SLO’ – on Weston Shore in the early hours of this morning.
Using CCTV, officers monitored the driver and blocked both sides of the road to prevent their departure.
The rider took to the pavement to escape, but ploughed into a police stop stick before being arrested by officers.
In a post on social media, officers from Hampshire Constabulary said: “’YOUR SLO’ but we certainly weren’t slow in deploying a stop stick when it took to the pavement to try and get away from officers.”

They added: “The rider must have been distracted by the beautiful waterfront scenery as it failed to spot the stop stick directly in front of it, which was successful.
“The rider jumped off nearby and was quickly detained.”
The ride of the motorcycle was arrested for theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving, failing to stop, driving otherwise in accordance with licence, and driving without insurance.
Police also arrested them on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon after a knife was found, and fraudulent use of a registration mark.
The force’s dog unit was also involved in the incident.
