Manchester United are in advanced talks to sign Wolves forward Matheus Cunha in a deal worth £62.5 million, with the Brazilian attacker set to become one of the club’s marquee summer signings.
BBC Sport understands that United are prepared to pay the full amount of Cunha’s release clause in three instalments over two years, with the first payment of £20.8 million due upon completion of the transfer.

While Wolves are yet to receive a formal bid, sources close to the negotiations suggest that an official approach is imminent and that personal terms are close to being finalised, with only minor details remaining.
Cunha, 25, joined Wolves from Atletico Madrid, initially on loan in January 2023 and has since become a standout performer at Molineux, scoring 33 goals in 92 appearances.
He played what is likely his final match for the club in last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Brentford and has since posted an emotional farewell message to Wolves fans on social media.
“Individually, it was the best season of my life,” Cunha wrote. “All of this was only possible because of the dedication and love I have for this club.
I became the Brazilian with the most goals in a Premier League season, along with Roberto Firmino and Gabriel Martinelli.
I made mistakes and got things right, but always because I lived this club so much. All I ever wanted was to do the impossible for Wolves.
