Man City Stumble Again in UCL After Defeat Against Juve

Manchester City still haven’t fully recovered from their crisis just yet, especially in Europe as Pep Guardiola’s side picked up another disappointing result this midweek. The Citizen failed to win their third Champions League fixtures in a row after suffering a 2-0 loss from Juventus.

Man City Lose Against Juventus in Turin

Failing to win their previous two UCL games, City were eager to bounce back and grab all three points in Turin. However, Pep Guardiola’s side had to face a different scenario as it was the home team that snatched maximum points thanks to two second-half goals from Dusan Vlahovic and Weston McKennie.

Despite dominating the ball possession throughout the match, Man City’s failure to convert their chances and poor defensive moments punished them again. It’s certainly another setback for the Citizen outfit after they recently ended their winless streak in the Premier League.

City’s UCL Qualification in Jeopardy

This result puts Guardiola’s team’s UCL qualification under a major threat as they’re currently sitting at the 22nd spot, just two spots ahead of the second-round qualification place. It’s certainly an alarming situation but fortunately for Guardiola, they will have some time to improve their UCL standings as there are still two games left which will be played in January 2025.

Moreover, following the midweek defeat, Man City have now only managed to win one game from their last 10 matches across all competitions. The Premier League defending champion must try to get their act together as they could be in a more difficult situation if things don’t change quickly.
